PP has regretted this Thursday that the Ministry of Transport has not taken any commitment to the request for a maritime line that connects Ceuta with Málaga, despite the autonomous government having already launched a study for this new maritime route. In a statement, the PP has criticized the difference between the statements made by the Government's delegate in Ceuta, Miguel Ángel Pérez, on the future maritime line Ceuta-Málaga and the official response now sent by the Executive to the parliamentary question presented by the PP national deputy for Ceuta, Javier Celaya. The initiative to promote a public service obligation maritime connection between Ceuta and Málaga was approved by the Plenary of the Assembly on February 26 and, after that agreement, the Government's delegate announced publicly that he would promote a study to justify the declaration of that line as a maritime connection of public interest. However, the official response of the Government “leaves clear that there is no decision taken at this moment” on that connection and points out that “it supports the realization of studies”, to which it adds that any declaration of public interest will depend on the existence of a “sufficient technical justification” and a subsequent decision by the Council of Ministers. For the PP, this response shows that the Ministry of Transport has not taken any commitment to the request for a maritime line that connects Ceuta with Málaga.
